Facebook’s cleaning up. The social-media juggernaut unveiled a redesigned Newsfeed on Thursday, an interface that is cleaner and less cluttered than the current iteration. The company calls the design “mobile inspired,” because it was crafted to remain consistent across different screen sizes and platforms. The most eye-catching change is the switch from a three-column template to two-column, with a focus on photo, video, and visual content sharing, all of which appear much larger on the stream. The new interface also retools its “Like” system to start recommending content from people and pages you’ve indicated you’re interested in—for example, about Taylor Swift, if you’ve liked her on Facebook.
