The immigration history of the Tsarnaev brothers, Chechen natives suspected of causing the Boston Marathon bombing attack, will surely influence the Senate's plan for immigration reform, Senator Chuck Grassley said Friday. "How can individuals evade authority and plan such attacks on our soil?" Grassley asked the Senate Judiciary Committee. "How can we beef up security checks on those who wish to enter the United States? How do we ensure that people who wish to do us harm are not eligible for benefits under the immigration laws, including this new bill before us?" Democrat Chuck Schumer, on the other hand, asked his fellow committee members not to jump to conclusions and add more to the bill that he said was already "balanced." U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, of Iowa, said that the Boston bombing and immigration reform are separate issues and any attempt to tie them together "is misguided."
