    185 Killed in Nigerian Fighting

    Clashes between Islamist extremists and Nigerian troops killed 185 people in the fishing town of Baga on Friday. On Sunday, government officials examined the damage, finding bodies from the battle in which insurgents fired rocket-propelled grenades and soldiers sprayed machine-gun fire into civilian neighborhoods. The fighting began when soldiers surrounded a mosque where it was believed members of the radical group Boko Haram were hiding.
