You’d think her bikini bod would have to be rolled out in a wheelchair. Penelope Cruz has been cast as the Bond girl in the next 007 film, The Guardian reports. Should the film be released in three years, as MGM plans, Cruz would be 42 when it hits theaters, making her the oldest Bond Girl ever—a factoid that is dominating headlines about the casting. Should she actually play the role, The Guardian says it would be a “feminist breakthrough, one for the annals. Finally, cinema’s ultimate chauvinist got himself an age-appropriate girlfriend.” The obsession over her age, Vanity Fair counters, may be chauvinist in its own right.
