Pia Zadora’s “Best New Star of the Year” Golden Globe just seems further and further away. The 61-year-old actress was arrested this weekend on suspicion of domestic battery and coercion after allegedly trying to choke her 16-year-old son, Jordan, at their Las Vegas home. TMZ reported the incident began when Zadora wanted her son to go to bed at a “timely hour” and stop talking to his stepbrother outside. She allegedly sprayed them with a hose, and when the stepbrother tried to calm her down, she punched him. She allegedly choked Jordan when he tried to call 911. Zadora infamously won the “Best New Star of the Year” Golden Globe in 1982 for her role in Butterfly, which many charged was the result of her then-husband buying the award.
