Ex–Pentagon General Under Investigation

    Could the second-highest-ranking officer in the U.S. military be the source of a leak regarding the secret U.S. cyberattacks on Iran’s nuclear program? The Justice Department is investigating retired Marine Gen. James Cartwright, who served as the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff between 2007 and 2011, according to NBC News. Last year The New York Times released a story describing the operation, which began under President Bush and escalated under Obama. In 2010 a virus released by the program temporarily disabled 1,000 Iranian centrifuges used to enrich uranium.
