Irish singer Sir Bob Geldof arrives for the gala Cinema for Peace on the sidelines of the 61st Berlin International Film Festival, in Berlin on February 14, 2011. Since 2002 Cinema for Peace has been a worldwide initiative, promoting humanity through film while inviting members of the international film community to attend the annual Cinema for Peace Award-Gala-Night during the Berlin International Film Festival. Bob Geldof is all set to become the first Irishman in space after booking a $100,000 seat on a 2014 commercial flight from Space Expedition Corp. The rocker and political activist is understandably excited. "The first rock astronaut space rat!” he said. “Elvis may have left the building but Bob Geldof will have left the Planet! Wild! Who would have thought it possible in my lifetime?” Should be quite a party on board the 62-mile journey; he’ll be joined by Dutch trance DJ Armin van Buuren and supermodel Doutzen Kroes.
