Paul Responds to Plagiarizing

Dueling didn’t work out so well for Alexander Hamilton. Just saying. The Kentucky senator said Sunday that he takes accusations of plagiarism “as an insult” and “if dueling were legal in Kentucky, if they keep it up, you know it’d be a duel challenge.” Paul acknowledged on This Week that the “footnote police” had been watching him, and he said he didn’t think the “spoken word” should be held to the same standard as “if you’re giving a scientific paper.” Regardless, Paul’s speech on his website was quietly updated Sunday to include footnotes to the Wikipedia article on the film Stand and Deliver. Paul insists that “98 percent” of his speeches are extemporaneous.
