A Danish woman was gang-raped in the Indian capital after getting lost and asking a group of men for directions, police and reports said on January 15, the latest high-profile case of sexual assault against women in the country. Adding to India’s increasing reputation for violence against women, a 51-year-old Danish tourist says she was robbed and raped at knifepoint in the Indian capital after she got lost on her way back to her hotel. Last year, a Swiss tourist was also raped by a group of men. India has faced increased scrutiny for its handling of sexual violence since a 2012 gang rape and murder of a female student on a Delhi bus.
