1. LIVING PROOF

U.S. POW Seen Alive in Video

There’s new hope for the family of American prisoner of war Bowe Bergdahl. The U.S. military has obtained a “proof–of-life” video, the first in almost three years. Bergdahl has been held since June 2009, when he was captured in Afghanistan. He is believed to be held by the Taliban-aligned Haqqani network in Pakistan. In the video, he appeared to be in a weakened state, but did make reference to Dec. 14, 2013. "Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has been gone far too long, and we continue to call for and work toward his safe and immediate release," a Pentagon spokesman said.
