After Chipotle filed a suit claiming Frank Ocean backed out of a $425,000 deal to sing a remake of “Pure Imagination” for an ad about factory farming, the R&B singer took to his Tumblr with a less legally sound response. Ocean posted a scanned image of a cashier’s check in the amount of $215,500 (the advance Chipotle is suing to get back) and in the memo section, wrote “Fuck Off.” Chipotle claims that Ocean backed out because he was annoyed over the Chipotle logo coming at the end of the animated spot, and that he had final say over the recording. The spot ended up featuring Fiona Apple covering the Willy Wonka classic.
