MH370 Black Box Search Is On

Now that the search for missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370 has been narrowed down to the vast expanse that is the Indian Ocean, the underwater hunt for the plane’s black boxes had begun. A British survey vessel and an Australian ship with U.S. Navy sensors—along with 15 planes and nine other water crafts are listening for pings that will give them some sort of clue as to where the black boxes—whose batteries are quickly approaching the end of their 30-day lifespan—might be. “The Australian Transport Safety Board continues to refine the area where the aircraft entered the water based on continuing ground-breaking and multi-disciplinary technical analysis of satellite communication and aircraft performance,” Australia’s Joint Agency Coordination Centre said in a statement, Friday.
