The nine-phase ballot process for Indian elections begins on Monday, as the Hindu nationalist BJP takes on the incumbent Congress Party. More than 800 million Indians are eligible to vote in the election, which will conclude on May 12. There is also a new anti-corruption party making waves in the country, the AAP, or Common Man's Party. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already announced his retirement, and the newest member of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, Rahul Gandhi, is leading the Congress Party. For the first time in Indian history, dissatisfied voters will have a "None of the Above" option in voting machines.
