According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Internet is "a CIA project" that Moscow must "fight" to resist. Putin made the remarks at a media forum in St. Petersburg, noting that the Internet was developed by the CIA and "is still developing as such." He also leveled allegations against Russian search engine Yandex, which caused a five-percent drop in its stock shares.
