Home of Syria Rebellion Falls

With just a month to go until Syria’s election, rebels are withdrawing from Homs. The abandonment of the city where the rebellion began will give President Bashar al-Assad a major symbolic victory. The evacuation, which involved buses of hundred of fighters fleeing to rebel-held areas elsewhere, was arranged between the fighters and pro-Assad forces. The rebel forces had held Homs despite a year of siege from better-supplied Assad forces.
