It was close, but Clay Aiken officially beat businessman Keith Crisco, who died Monday, in North Carolina's Democratic congressional primary. The former American Idol star's bid for the nomination was too close to call at first, but a tally released on Tuesday shows he received more than the 40 percent needed to win. On Monday, Crisco died after falling in his home, and his campaign manager said he was willing to concede loss to Aiken. Now Aiken will take on Republican congresswoman Renee Ellmers.
