Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice will not be spending his honeymoon in jail. Rice has been allowed to enter a pretrial intervention program to avoid prosecution for alleged assault against the woman who is now his wife. Rice, 27, and his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, were both charged with simple assault inside a casino elevator in February. Palmer was rendered unconscious in the altercation and video from outside the elevator shows Rice moving her. The couple was married the next day. Upon completion of the minimum one-year program, the third-degree charge of aggravated assault against Rice would be dismissed, with an arrest but no conviction on his record.
