Zelda Williams, the 25-year-old daughter of Robin Williams, announced Wednesday that she is quitting social media due to “cruel” images and messages about her father. In a tweet, she wrote, “I’m sorry. I should’ve risen above. Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever. Time will tell. Goodbye.” On Tumblr, she issued a longer post, which addressed those who apparently sent her photoshopped pictures purporting to be her father’s dead body. She wrote, “As for those who are sending negativity, know that some small, giggling part of him is sending a flock of pigeons to your house to poop on your car. Right after you’ve had it washed. After all, he loved to laugh, too.” She also asked users to report the two Twitter accounts behind a lot of the abuse. Twitter has suspended the two accounts.
