According to AFP reports, a group of armed men stormed an Ebola clinic in the Liberian capital of Monrovia on Sunday, causing up to 29 patients to run away. Witness Rebecca Wesseh said, “They broke down the doors and looted the place. The patients all fled.” The head of Health Workers Association of Liberian, George Williams, has also confirmed the report. On Saturday, a mob of several hundred residents in Monrovia forced away a police-accompanied burial team trying to sanitarily remove the corpses of suspected Ebola victims. The mob then forced open an Ebola isolation ward and took several patients out. A growing public health obstacle in West Africa is people believe Ebola is a hoax.
