The most infamous commercial airline of 2014, Malaysian Airlines, announced that it would cut 6,000 employees, about a third of the company’s total workforce. The beleaguered airline will be forever remembered for Flight 370. The search for the missing jet is ongoing and may be widened further south in response to new information gleaned from satellite calls. Another of Malaysian Airlines’s flights, MH17, was shot down in July over eastern Ukraine. Malaysian Airlines is in the process of becoming completely state-owned.
