Ash Carter Tapped for Defense Secretary

    The Daily Beast confirms reports that President Obama is expected to nominate Ashton Carter to be the next secretary of defense. The White House has not made an official announcement about the president’s choice to succeed Chuck Hagel. Carter, the former deputy secretary of defense, has apparently edged out Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to lead the Pentagon.
