UCLA announced on Friday that NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was admitted to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for cardiovascular disease and underwent a quadruple coronary bypass surgery on April 16. According to UCLA’s chief of cardiac surgery, Dr. Richard Shemin, who performed the surgery, says it was successful and Abdul-Jabbar is expected to make a full recovery.
