Black Church in S.C. Burns Down

FEAR

No evidence of arson.

A black church in South Carolina burned to the ground Tuesday night, but officials have found no evidence of arson. Federal investigators say they have found no accelerants at the scene, and that they are working to determine whether lightening may have started the fire at Mount Zion AME Church in Greeleyville. Nevertheless, speculation raged that it was arson after several black churches in the South were burned in the past two weeks (and Mount Zion was, in 1995, by Klansmen).
