An Amtrak train derailed outside Montpelier, Vermont, on Monday morning.Gov. Peter Shumlin said 98 passengers were on board, and seven people have been hospitalized, none with life-threatening injuries. Daily Beast contributor Gina Tron reports two cars went off the tracks, one housing the engine and the other with the conductor. Amtrak officials said a rock slide reportedly caused the derailment and there was no suspicion of wrongdoing.
