But as it turns out, the nominating committee did not overlook the song; it was just never submitted by the label. According to Hits Daily Double, "'Hotline Bling' was not submitted, due to a clerical error on the part of label Cash Money." The industry site added: "That huge hit might well have been a multiple-category contender but for this goof."
