Hope Hicks, spokeswoman for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, fired back Thursday at allegations that campaign manager Corey Lewandowski grabbed Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields and pulled her to the ground at a Tuesday press conference. “The accusation, which has only been made in the media and never directly addressed with the campaign, is entirely false,” the statement read. The spokeswoman also suggested Fields has repeatedly exaggerated claims of violence against her, citing without context a previous accusation that a New York police officer hit her with a baton. “We leave to others whether this is part of a larger pattern of exaggerating incidents,” Hicks wrote. Lewandowski also tweeted that Fields is "attention seeking."
In response to Hicks’ statement, Fields tweeted a photo of her arm with multiple bruises visible. “I guess these just magically appeared on me,” she mocked.
