Judge: Hillary May Testify on Emails

A federal judge said Hillary Clinton may be deposed in a lawsuit related to her private email use while she served as secretary of State. U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan said Wednesday it “may be necessary” for the Democratic presidential frontrunner to give a deposition as part of the discovery process in the Freedom of Information Act lawsuit between conservative group Judicial Watch and the State Department. The group is suing the State Department for all relevant employment records of Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin. Judicial Watch is aiming to find out whether Abedin’s employment status with the State Department and other groups linked to Clinton violated any rules. The judge also ordered testimony in the next eight weeks from seven of Clinton’s aides and State Department staffers.
