Reince on Trump’s ‘Hispanics’ Tweet: ‘He’s Trying’

It's getting harder and harder to believe Reince Priebus when he says he doesn’t pour alcohol in his breakfast cereal. Appearing Friday at a Politico Playbook breakfast, the Republican National Committee chairman seemed quite defeated when asked about Donald Trump’s Cinco de Mayo tweet of himself eating a taco bowl and declaring his love for Hispanics. “He’s trying,” Priebus said with a sigh, before launching into a mealy-mouthed defense of Trump’s desire to unite the party. Priebus has come under fire from anti-Trump forces for declaring Tuesday evening that Republicans must rally around presumptive nominee Trump, despite immense displeasure from multiple factions within the party.
