Labour Party candidate Saqid Khan has won London’s mayoral election, beating Conservative candidate Zac Goldsmith. Khan will be the city’s first Muslim mayor, succeeding Mayor Boris Johnson. Khan won 44 percent of the vote, leading Goldsmith, who took 35 percent of the vote.
