The FBI has found no evidence in its investigation so far that Orlando shooter Omar Mateen had previous gay lovers or used gay dating apps, according to one top official. In the aftermath of the worst mass shooting in American history, which took place at a gay nightclub, there were many claims that Mateen had used apps to seek out encounters with gay men and Pulse patrons who said he was a regular. Agents have looked through Mateen’s devices, including his laptop and phone, to help validate the claims, but there’s no evidence so far that indicates he had a gay secret life.
