Apple will begin a push for its U.S. iPhone users to enroll in the national organ donor registry, once the iOS 10 update goes live this fall. Chief Executive Tim Cook says he hopes the operating system’s Health app will help eradicate critical organ shortages by enabling users to sign up as donors on their phones. When company co-founder Steve Jobs waited for his liver transplant in 2009, the issue hit home with many at the company. He died at 56 of pancreatic cancer.
