A remotely piloted U.S. aircraft crashed in northern Syria on Tuesday, the Air Force confirmed. Officials lost control of the MQ-9 Reaper while it was on a combat mission. No civilians were thought to be hurt when the aircraft went down, and the Air Force said the Reaper’s remains were “destroyed by coalition aircraft” and “not in enemy hands.”
