According to a CNN report, the 911 call that led Baton Rouge police to the convenience store where they shot Alton Sterling came from a homeless man. An unnamed law-enforcement official told reporters the man approached Sterling and asked him for money several times. Sterling reportedly showed his gun to the man, who then called police. The 27-year-old died in front of the store after he was pinned down and shot by officers.
