A man in Georgia called 911 to report a break-in of his car and ambushed the police officer who responded, officials say. Officer Randall Hancock arrived at the scene where 22-year-old Stephen Paul Beck allegedly opened fire at him when he got out of his car. Hancock was hit three times—twice on his vest and once in his abdomen—but is expected to survive. Officials say they do not yet believe that the incident is connected to the recent police shooting deaths of black men this week, or to the shooting of 12 officers Thursday night in Dallas.
