Thailand Accepts Military Constitution

DEMOCRACY?

Future governments rule on military's terms.

Thailand voted to accept a military-backed constitution on Sunday. Results from the Election Commission indicated that 62 percent of the country voted for the charter while 37.9 voted against it. In a general election in 2017, future governments would now have to rule on the military's terms. The country's major political parties worry that the constitution is undemocratic.
