The Swedish Academy is reportedly giving up trying to contact Bob Dylan to congratulate him and discuss its awaring him the Nobel prize in literature. According to the Guardian, the prize-giving academy’s top secretary told Sweden’s state radio that they’d received friendly replies from Dylan’s “closest collaborator,” but have not heard from the bard himself since the prize was announced last Thursday. The songwriting legend has performed twice since then, and has not made any public mention of the honor bestowed upon him. “I am not at all worried,” said the academy’s secretary Sara Danius on whether the singer will appear at the Nobel prizes’s annual December banquet. “I think he will show up.”
