Ohio Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan announced Thursday that he will challenge Nancy Pelosi in her bid for re-election to House Minority Leader. In a letter to colleagues, the Rust Belt-based lawmaker asked of them: “Vote for me and I will dedicate all of my energy to lead us back into the majority. Our constituents deserve nothing less.” Pelosi has not faced a challenge to the top Democratic leadership post since 2010, and has already predicted she will coast to victory because she claims to have support from at least two-thirds of the Democratic Caucus.
