Police in Brazil have captured a drug lord who used plastic surgery to change his appearance and avoid authorities for nearly 30 years. Luiz Carlos da Rocha, who led an extensive cocaine ring in South America, was described by police as “a criminal who lived discreetly and in the shadows.” He was living under a pseudonym for years. Officials say Rocha’s drug ring produced around five metric tons of cocaine each month that was sent all over South America as well as to Europe and the United States.
