From Mick Jagger to Jay-Z, the Most Stylish Star Dads for Father’s Day

These dads juggle a couple of kids, life in the spotlight, and still manage to put together some pretty best-dressed-list-worthy outfits both on and off the red carpet.

Frumpy dads may be one of the silver screen’s favorite archetypes, yet these leading men are anything but. This Father’s Day, as you ponder which tie to buy your pop, glean some inspiration from these fashionable fellas and their tot-toting style.

Mick Jagger

Rock star Mick Jagger, center, carries his daughter Elizabeth Scarlett in John F. Kennedy International Airport, February 21, 1987, in New York. This rock star is father to seven—yes, seven—children (you’re not that surprised, are you?). They range in age from 42-year-old Karis Jagger Hunt to 14-year-old Lucas Maurice Morad Jagger—and count four mothers between them. Of course, these kids won’t be shopping at Macy’s for their rule-breaking style icon’s Father’s Day present.

Usher

Smooth-dancing R&B crooner Usher is father to two kids—Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely Raymond. He’s a devoted one at that: it’s rumored that he left his judging gig on The Voice this past May to look after his children, whom he has full custody over.

Brad Pitt

Accompanied by their children, Brad Pitt and Angellina Jolie appear before photographers upon their arrival at Haneda Airport in Tokyo on November 8, 2011. It’s hard not to look at perennially stylish Brad and Angelina walking with their gaggle of kids and wonder how they possibly manage to look so put together. Pitt and Jolie have three biological children, and three adopted kids, who hail from Ethiopia, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Maddox’s cool hairdos and Shiloh’s bold fashion have surely made Suri Cruise’s burn book many times over.

David Beckham

The British superstar seems to be a devoted dad, and he even has his four children’s names tattooed on his body. There’s no denying his kids will follow in their well-heeled father’s footsteps—the aptly named Romeo Beckham has already starred in a Burberry campaign.

Lenny Kravitz

Kravitz may have chopped off his dreadlocks, but the shade-wearing singer hasn’t shied away from daring fashion choices since his heyday in the spotlight (he even rocked the scarf blanket like no one else can). And his daughter, Zoë, takes after her famous father: the 24-year-old is a model and singer.

Johnny Depp

You never know what to expect, fashion or otherwise, with Johnny Depp, who’s been rocking the hippie-cowboy-rockabilly look for the past few decades. But one thing’s for sure, Lily-Rose and Jack are some lucky kids. “Fatherhood was not a conscious decision,” he once described. “It was part of the wonderful ride I was on. It was destiny; kismet. All the math finally worked.”

Bono

The singer may have gone from lead singer to humanitarian activist, but those sunglasses have never gone out of style. The notoriously private U2 frontman has four kids—two daughters and two sons.

Will Smith

The Men in Black star’s kids have basically eclipsed their father’s fame by now. Jaden and Willow have stepped into the music and film business, and picked up some style tips from their dad along the way.

Robert Downey Jr.

The bad-boy actor has expectedly unusual names for his kids: Indio and Exton. Hopefully they take after his awesome fashion picks, but won’t follow in some of their father’s crazier antics.

Andre 3000

Andre 3000 of OutKast and son Seven accept the Grammy for Album of the Year at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on February 8, 2004, in Los Angeles. No one in the music industry makes such bold fashion choices as this half of Outkast. Remember the intro of “Ms. Jackson” that’s dedicated to “baby’s mamas’ mamas”? That was a reference to the grandmother of his son, Seven Sirius Benjamin, for whom the song was a message.

Orlando Bloom

Talk about good genes. The heartthrob–Victoria’s Secret model combo of Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr might just be the best on this list. And lucky 2-year-old Flynn has very stylish shoes to fill.

Seal

Singer Seal and model Heidi Klum watch the Los Angeles Lakers play the New Orleans Hornets with their kids, from left, Helene and Johan, Friday, January 7, 2011, in Los Angeles. Seal, who held his own alongside stunning former wife Heidi Klum (and that’s not an easy feat), has four young kids. They’re bound to grow up with good looks and good style—but which parent’s career path will they follow?

Neil Patrick Harris

Everyone’s favorite womanizing sitcom character always finds an excuse to dress up—a trait his toddler twins are bound to appreciate when they can appreciate a fully stocked dress-up box. (Seriously, how does NPH look this carelessly classy even on a casual stroll in the park with the family?)
