The 2016 Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist will not race at the Belmont Stakes next month due to a highly elevated white blood-cell count, Daily Racing Form reported Tuesday morning. The colt was the heavy favorite for both the Derby and last week’s Preakness Stakes—which he lost in an upset to Exaggerator, ending his undefeated streak and chances for the Triple Crown.
