The disruption came just as Scottie Scheffler was preparing to putt on the 18th hole on Sunday.
Scheffler was accused of injuring a cop as he drove through the scene of a fatal crash outside the Valhalla Golf Club.
“It’s so competitive out here. We all want to beat each other. And then something like this happens and you realize we’re all just humans,” Peter Malnati said.
The passing of the 30-year-old golfer stunned the sports world, coming just one day after he withdrew from a tournament over an illness.

The clips show a cop chasing after the slow-moving car, whacking the windshield, and hauling the golfer out of the driver’s seat.
The officer reportedly said the incident left him with “pain, swelling and abrasions to left wrist and knee,” according to an incident report.
