The reality star was accused of wearing the same dress Gwyneth Paltrow wore to an award ceremony this week at Cannes—which isn’t the first thing she’s borrowed. From Lady Gaga to Victoria Beckham, see Kardashian’s many style imitations.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Sorting through the dirty laundry of fellow celebrities is something stars occasionally get caught doing–but Kardashian is a repeat offender. In her latest trend-stealing efforts, Kardashian was seen wearing the same belly-bearing black lace Pucci gown Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the 2011 Emmys. Paltrow kept the gown simple, with hair undone and minimal jewelry. When Kardashian wore the dress this week in Cannes, France, she opted for large chandelier earrings and a slicked-back ‘do.

Alexis Bittar

Kim Kardashian sued Old Navy for using a look-alike in its commercials, and last week jewelry designer Alexis Bittar accused Kardashian of being a copycat herself, claiming she duplicated his pieces in her own collection, Belle Noel. “There are so many people coming out with lines to capitalize on their TV shows,” Bittar told the New York Post’s Alexa magazine. “They are not designers and they are just stealing. I passed the Dash pop-up store on Broadway, and I saw that Kim’s pieces were very similar to mine, and she definitely has been taking note [of my designs] … She was definitely influenced by my designs without a doubt.” A representative for Kardashian, however, denies the allegation: “There is no truth to this. Kim is constantly inspired by her travels, which she incorporates into her designs. She hasn’t ever noted any inspiration from Alexis Bittar’s pieces so any similarity in design is purely coincidental.”

Lady Gaga

Back in August, when Lady Gaga cohosted The View, she wore a relatively demure ensemble—for her: a bold black-and-white houndstooth dress by Salvatore Ferragamo with a matching hat, clutch, and shoes. (Though the matching sunglasses were a little much.) And last Friday, when Kim Kardashian was sitting in for Kathie Lee Gifford on the Today show, she wore the same Ferragamo dress and matched it perfectly, too. Kardashian tweeted a photo of herself in the dress, seated in a black-and-white houndstooth chair at New York’s Gansevoort Hotel.

Cher

With Cher’s son, Chaz Bono, competing against Kim Kardashian’s brother, Rob, on Dancing With the Stars, the familial trash talking escalated. On Oct. 2, Cher tweeted: “I don't watch reality! Never saw a Kardashian but these Bitches should b Drop kicked down a freeway !Not kidding!” And how did Kim respond? Several days later, she was spotted wearing a white outfit eerily reminiscent of Cher, circa 1970, just before she released her first solo single—the appropriately titled “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves.”

Victoria Beckham

The optical illusion dress may be a big trend for fall, but in 2009, Victoria Beckham was ahead of the curve (and accentuating her own) in Alexander McQueen’s moiré-patterned sheath. Nearly two years later, while promoting Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Kim Kardashian had people seeing double in a longer version of the same McQueen dress.

Jennifer Lawrence

It’s one thing to want to look like a page out of a magazine; it’s quite another to copy a cover image. In June 2011, shortly after Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence appeared on Canada’s Flare magazine in a purple-and-orange Gucci dress, Kim took the plunge in the same dress, right down to the matching bent arm.

Khloe Kardashian

Having your sister borrow a dress is a common dilemma in many families, but stealing her look outright? On Sept. 21, 2010, Khloe Kardashian attended a Weezer concert in a bandage dress by Bebe. Three days later, her big sister, Kim, was spotted out for dinner in the same dress (albeit a different size) with a pair of leopard-print heels by Christian Louboutin.

Khloe Kardashian

There was a time when Kim Kardashian only dated football players—including Reggie Bush and Miles Austin—but after her sister Khloe married Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom in September 2009, Kim made a crossover dribble to the NBA. And in 2010, Kim got forward with a forward of her own, Nets big man Kris Humphries. After dating for several months, the two made a fast break down the aisle this summer, giving new meaning to the phrase rebound marriage.

Kate Hudson

With the exception of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress no fashion moment was more anticipated in 2011 than Kim Kardashian’s Vera Wang bridal gown. But after Kardashian’s August wedding to Kris Humphries, fashion editors at Us Weekly noticed that Kim had copied a different Kate—her gown looked identical to the Vera Wang dress Kate Hudson wore in 2009’s Bride Wars. "I had many different styles to choose from at Vera Wang,” costume designer Karen Patch explained to Brides magazine. "The idea for [Kate's] dress was that she was the iconic bride—the bride on the top of the wedding cake. She was the bride who could have anything she wanted." And apparently it was also love at first sight for Kim.

Paris Hilton

Most fans started keeping up with Kim Kardashian after a sex tape of her with then-boyfriend Ray J surfaced in 2007. It was a career move pioneered three years earlier when 1 Night in Paris, a video featuring Paris Hilton and her then-boyfriend Rick Salamon, was leaked. But according to the New York Post, Hilton’s mother, Kathy, didn’t think the imitation was particularly flattering. “Kathy was going on about how Paris is the original reality star and all the others had her to thank for their success," a source told Page Six about Kardashian, who used to be a stylist for Paris. The source added, "Kathy said Kim copied everything Paris has done."
