Mark Zuckerberg Invited to Testify Before House Panel on Cambridge Analytica Scandal

House committee members said "many questions were unanswered" at an earlier briefing.

House leaders formally invited Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg to testify at an upcoming hearing about his company's role in the Cambridge Analytica data scandal. Leaders of the Committee on Energy and Commerce penned a letter to Zuckerberg on Friday, calling the entrepreneur the "right person" to answer questions about how an analytics company harvested over 50 million Facebook users' data without their consent. On Wednesday, Zuckerberg finally apologized for his company's involvement in the data leak in an interview with CNN. The social network's stock dropped $42 billion dollars this week following investigations by The New York Times, The Guardian, and Channel 4 on Cambridge Analytica and the massive data leak.
