British Prime Minister Theresa May will seek permission from Queen Elizabeth to form a government, despite losing her Commons majority in the U.K. election on Friday. May’s Conservatives are eight seats short of the 326 needed to command an overall majority. She will visit Buckingham Palace at 12:30 BST, making the effort to stay in office based on the premise that Northern Ireland’s hardline Democratic Unionist Party will support her minority administration, the BBC reports. Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn, of the Labour Party, is encouraging her to quit, saying he is “ready to serve.”
