President Trump has reportedly added Washington lawyer John Dowd to his legal team as the investigations into possible collusion between his campaign and Russia continues. Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Trump’s legal defense, confirmed the news on Friday, according to Reuters. Dowd, 76, is well-known for his work in several high-profile white collar crime cases, having represented U.S. Senator John McCain in the “Keating Five” banking scandal in the late 1980s, in which McCain was acquitted. Dowd also represented Galleon Group hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam in a 2011 New York insider trading case, though Rajaratnam was found guilty and sentenced to 11 years. Along with Marc Kasowitz, Trump’s lead lawyer in the Russian probe, and Dowd, the president’s legal team also includes conservative activist Jay Sekulow, and Michael Bowe, a partner in Kasowitz's firm.
