Lawyers working for President Trump’s aides are telling their clients not to lie to protect the commander in chief. Former and current high-ranking aides, including Reince Priebus, Hope Hicks, and Sean Spicer, will all soon face questioning from special counsel Robert Mueller and congressional officials. Trump has been long known for demanding unflinching loyalty from his employees—a standard that will be soon tested. “What I always tell clients is you can’t protect anybody. You can only hurt yourself,” said one lawyer who, according to Politico, represents a client involved in the Russia investigation.
