The top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee said Tuesday that he was “disappointed” in Facebook for not turning over critical information on Russia’s attempts to promote anti-immigrant events on the social-media platform. Facebook acknowledged those attempts after The Daily Beast first reported Monday on the influence campaign, a week after it turned other materials over the committee. “We’re seeing more evidence of additional ads and how they are used to manipulate individuals,” Warner said. The intelligence committee is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Facebook has pledged to cooperate with investigators. According to Reuters, the social-media giant shared information about the Russian attempts with special counsel Robert Mueller.
