Capitol Police on Monday removed more than 50 health-care activists, including multiple wheelchair users, from a hearing on Monday. Hundreds of activists lined up to attend the hearing on the health-care bill co-sponsored by Sens. Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy. The bill is the latest in a litany of Republican-led efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. Activists began chanting slogans as soon as the hearing began, prompting police to forcibly remove some activists from the room. Video showed police removing one protester from his chair and carrying him out of the room. “If you want a hearing, you’d better shut up,” Sen. Orrin Hatch told protesters over their “no cuts to Medicaid” chants.
