Nigerian officials say over 100 people from three Christian villages were killed by Fulani Muslim herders. Competition for land and water between Muslim herders and Christian farmers in Nigeria's Middle Belt has resulted in thousands of deaths in recent years. Chenshyi village chief Nuhu Moses said that gunmen killed more than 50 people including the pastor's wife and children. It's also reported that the Muslim herders set hundreds of that-roof huts on fires. More than one hundred people were killed last week in similar attacks in neighboring Katsina.
