At least 103 people were injured in Brooklyn when a Long Island Railroad commuter train derailed Wednesday morning. According to the New York City Fire Department, none of the injuries are life-threatening. The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. at Atlantic Terminal. The cause of the derailment is unclear and under investigation. “The @LIRR train was supposed to stop at a bumper & didn’t, but glad to report there were no deaths; the most serious injury was a broken leg,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo tweeted.

Forty-nine-year-old passenger Daniel Alvarez told DNAinfo that the impact felt like the train—which was coming from Far Rockaway on Track 6—was hitting a brick wall. “The train was approaching the platform doing what it does,” he told a reporter. “All of a sudden, it just stopped. Everyone just went flying on top of each other.”
